Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar of the UAE Team Emirates won the Milan-San Remo cycling race in Italy. This is one of the longest and most prestigious road cycling races in the world, covering a distance of 298 kilometers. Pogačar secured the victory despite a fall in the last six kilometers, but he quickly recovered and continued the race. With this achievement, Pogačar became the first cyclist to win four out of five of the 'monuments' of road cycling, bringing his total career victories to 110. After the race, Pogačar said: 'When I fell, I thought everything was over. Falling right before the most important part of the race is not ideal, but luckily I got back up quickly and the damage wasn't severe.' He also added that the win would not have been possible without the great teamwork, highlighting the crucial role of his teammates throughout the race, especially after the crash that almost ended all hopes.
