Mexican Rider Reclaims Lead at Tirreno-Adriatico

Mexican rider Isaac del Toro of the UAE-XRG team delivered an outstanding attacking performance on the fifth stage of the 'Tirreno-Adriatico' race in Italy, finishing second. He placed behind Danish rider Michael Valgren (EF Education EasyPost) but reclaimed the overall lead with two stages remaining. The stage covered 184 kilometers from Marotta-Mondolfo to Mombroccchio and featured approximately 4,000 meters of climbing with steep hills. Valgren won the stage, but del Toro launched a decisive attack on the final climb, breaking away from his competitors to cross the line in second place by a few precious seconds, which returned him to the blue leader's jersey. The 22-year-old del Toro continues his strong run of performances that have been shaping the race. There are two tough stages left, and we will keep fighting until the end».
