Juventus and Spalletti Close to Contract Extension Until 2027

Italian club Juventus and head coach Luciano Spalletti are close to reaching an agreement to extend their contract until June 2027, with an option for an additional season, according to a news report. Romeo Agresti, a journalist specializing in Juventus news, wrote on his personal account on the social media platform X on Tuesday that the team, nicknamed 'The Old Lady', and its Italian coach Spalletti are close to agreeing on a new contract. Spalletti was appointed as Juventus head coach at the end of last October, succeeding Croatian Igor Tudor, but he signed a contract only until the end of the current season. Negotiations for the new contract began weeks ago, and according to Agresti, both parties are preparing to finalize some details before officially announcing the contract extension. A Juventus expert confirms that the new contract will run until June 2027 with an option for an additional season. Juventus currently sits fifth in the Serie A table, one point behind fourth-placed Como, but under Spalletti's leadership, the team has won 16 out of 29 matches he has led.
