The President of the International Sports Medicine Association, Professor Fabio Pigozzi, expressed his admiration and appreciation for the work done in preparation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. According to Pigozzi, the holding of the Games under the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic left unforgettable impressions and was a huge challenge for athletes, organizers, and medical personnel.
He noted that thanks to the thorough safety measures, it was possible to ensure the safety and health of all participants in the Olympics, which is considered an important achievement in the current situation. According to Pigozzi, the medical service at the Games worked at a high level, providing operational assistance and support to athletes.
The professor also emphasized that athletes demonstrated outstanding sports achievements and remarkable results at the Olympics. In his opinion, the Tokyo Games became a unique symbol of unity and strength of the sports movement in difficult times.
