Meloni Reaffirms Support for Ukraine Ahead of Zelensky's Visit to Rome

Rome, (Reuters) - The office of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said she held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday before his scheduled visits to London, Brussels, and Rome for talks on peace. Meloni reiterated Italy's solidarity with Ukraine after she described a new wave of Russian attacks as "random" against civilian targets and announced the dispatch of emergency supplies to support infrastructure. Earlier, the U.S. special envoy to Ukraine, Kellogg, said that reaching an agreement to end the war was "imminent" and depended on resolving just two key issues, but the Kremlin said some American proposals required radical changes.
