Francesco Totti and his partner are under investigation following a complaint from the football legend's ex-wife, Ilary Blasi, for alleged child abandonment. They are accused of leaving their youngest child unsupervised for several hours. However, the Italian capital's prosecutor's office has requested that the investigation be closed. The case is now in the hands of a judge, who must decide on December 1st whether to definitively archive the case or allow it to proceed. The incident dates back to May 2023, when Totti and Bocchi went to a restaurant, leaving three minors at home: their youngest daughter from the previous marriage, a seven-year-old girl, and Bocchi's two children, aged 9 and 11. Blasi's lawyers do not share the prosecutor's explanation and have filed an appeal, alleging that the girl was completely alone for an extended period in a large house without effective supervision. The investigation also involves the nanny, who initially stated that she was at the residence to provide an alibi for the couple, although this was later denied, according to the Italian press. According to the complaint, Blasi, who was abroad, called her daughter and discovered that no adult was present, so she called the police. The police arrived at the building but did not go up to the residence or check on the minors. However, the Prosecutor's Office maintains that there was never any real danger to the minors. According to their version, the girl had a phone with which she could contact someone if anything happened, and she was also accompanied by Bocchi's two children, who are older than her, as well as the nanny, who, although not in the residence at that moment, lived in the same building.
