Driver Lewis Hamilton had his first day of work at Ferrari, wearing a red Ferrari jacket and driving a 2023 specification Ferrari SF-23. Despite the Formula 1 restrictions on testing current specification racing cars, Hamilton was able to drive the Ferrari SF-23 in Maranello, expressing his happiness for fulfilling that dream.
In his debut with Ferrari, Hamilton wore the number 44 and had the opportunity to test the car alongside his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Prior to this debut, Formula 1 held a special event in London for the presentation of the car designs. Preseason testing with the 2025 season cars is scheduled from February 26 to 28 in Bahrain.
Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, expressed his excitement about joining Ferrari after a long stint with Mercedes. Before getting into the Ferrari car, Hamilton mentioned that he was fulfilling a childhood dream. The SF-23 is Ferrari's latest racing car that Hamilton was able to drive on his first day working with the Italian team.
The new Ferrari car will be officially presented on February 19 at the same track. During his first day with Ferrari, Hamilton greeted fans who were waiting for him at the circuit and showcased a new yellow helmet design featuring the Cavallino Rampante logo. With these first kilometers, Hamilton aims to adapt to the style of his new team before the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season.
