British driver Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion, received a surprise gift from his new Ferrari team during his first visit to the Italian factory in Maranello on Monday. Hamilton described the event as "one of the best things that has happened in my life," noting that Angela Cullen, the mechanic who accompanied him during his six title wins with Mercedes, had left the team two years ago. Ferrari decided to hire a 50-year-old New Zealander as an assistant for the British driver. Hamilton stated: "Thank you Ferrari, thank you to everyone in this factory for the warm welcome and warm atmosphere – I am excited and feel like I am at home."
