Kaladze on the Decline of Italian Football

Former Milan player Kakha Kaladze commented on changes in Italian football over the last 20 years, noting the decline in technical level and Silvio Berlusconi's departure.

When I joined Milan, it was the best in Europe, and big stars played for Milan, Juventus, Inter, and even Parma, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Roma. Overall, Italian football has changed. And Kakha Kaladze, winner of the 2007 Champions League and Inzaghi's teammate, noted: 'Pippo was amazing... The technical level is lower now.' When asked if this is the same Milan he played in for 10 years, he replied: 'Obviously, it's not the same, because Silvio Berlusconi (former Italian Prime Minister and former club president) is no longer here.'
