Bologna reached the final of the Italian Super Cup after defeating Inter Milan 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regular time. Inter took the lead just 74 seconds into the match with a goal from Marcus Thuram, who acrobatically finished a long pass from Alessandro Bastoni. However, Bologna equalized in the 35th minute from a penalty kick converted by Riccardo Orsolini. In the penalty shootout, three Inter players missed their attempts: Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolò Barella, and Frenchman Ange-Yoan Gouaillardé. In contrast, two Bologna players also missed their kicks before the more experienced team secured the victory. Bologna will face Napoli in the final of the Italian Super Cup.
