The last installment of the “Sinnercaraz” rivalry for 2025 went to Jannik Sinner. Sinner, the world number two, defeated the world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, in the ATP Finals trophy on Sunday by 7-6 (4), 7-5. This was the sixth meeting of the year between the two players dominating men's tennis. Sinner defended his title in front of his home Italian fans, achieving his second victory over Alcaraz this year after also beating the Spaniard in the Wimbledon final. “It was an incredible season,” said Sinner. “To finish it like this, in front of my Italian fans, is very special to me.” Alcaraz had already secured the year-end No. 1 ranking and was playing in his first final at the event for the top eight players of the year.
