
On Monday, in Brussels, the Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani reaffirmed his country's position on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, stating that "they can only be used on Ukrainian territory." This statement was made against the backdrop of increased tension on the frontline between Ukrainian armed forces and separatists in eastern Ukraine. Tajani also expressed concern about the escalation of the situation in the region and called for adherence to the ceasefire. He emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue between the parties in the conflict and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict. Tajani also added that Italy supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In light of recent events, the minister reiterated that Italy will continue to strengthen efforts within the framework of a comprehensive approach to addressing the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
