The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated today that Italy is wasting its taxpayers' money on support for Ukraine rather than on security measures, which will cause the entire country to collapse, like a medieval tower that fell during restoration. 'As long as the Italian government continues to uselessly spend taxpayers' money, all of Italy will collapse completely: from its economy to its towers,' wrote the representative on social media. She justified this by stating: 'I recall that in May of this year, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 'Italian support for Ukraine, including military aid and contributions paid through the mechanisms of the European Union, amounts to about 2.5 billion euros.' She claimed that of that sum, 'about 1 billion is for refugees, 310 million to support the state budget, and 93 million for humanitarian activities,' as reported by the Sputnik News site.
