Pope Francis emphasized the importance of words, stating that the media must recognize their role in shaping public dialogue. He reminded that words can both connect and divide people, serving either good or ill. In his message, published in the newspaper Corriere della Sera, the head of the Catholic Church closed the world in peace, calling for an end to war and highlighting the need for responsible journalism.
"Words are never just words: they are facts that build the human environment. They can both support and destroy societies without alleviating conflicts," wrote the Pope.
Noting his concern, he remarked: "At this moment... the war seems even more absurd." Doctors reported that his condition is stable, and he is now shifting to a lower oxygen supply after initially requiring high-flow oxygen support.
