The incident at the address of the Italian government was expressed by a representative of the international organization 'Amnesty International'. She highlighted the support provided by the Italian authorities to the Libyan government in order to ensure safety at sea.
The representative stated that such support amounts to complicity in the violation of human rights and leads to the suffering of thousands of people. She also expressed concern that this support allows Libyan authorities to detain migrants and subsequently direct them to camps where, as it is claimed, they are not guaranteed safety.
'Providing imperialist thinking in relation to Libya, hiding behind the pretext of safety at sea, is simply unacceptable. This policy contributes to human rights violations and only exacerbates the tragedy of refugees,' the representative of 'Amnesty International' emphasized.
