In the Vatican, a veil considered a sacred relic is displayed, believed to have been used by Saint Veronica to dry the face of Jesus during his journey to Mount Calvary. This relic, along with others related to the Passion of Christ, is shown in St. Peter's Basilica during Passion Sunday, which is celebrated on the fifth Sunday of Lent.

Saint Veronica, a pious figure in the Christian tradition, is known for this act of compassion towards Jesus on his way to crucifixion. Although there is no historical or biblical evidence of this event, Veronica's gesture has been venerated throughout the centuries. It is said that the face of Jesus was miraculously impressed on the cloth used by Veronica, making it one of the most cherished relics of the Holy Land.

In the Stations of the Cross, which commemorates Jesus' journey to crucifixion, this station where Veronica wipes Jesus' face is depicted. In Iztapalapa, Mexico, this event has become an annual tradition in which hundreds of people participate in the representation of the Passion of Christ. During the 182nd edition of this event, the young Daed Yolotzin López Salazar, from the San Pablo neighborhood, will play the role of Veronica.
