Claudio Ranieri on Leandro Paredes' future

The coach of Italy's Roma, Claudio Ranieri, has spoken emphatically about the future of Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes at the club, amidst rumors linking him with Boca Juniors. Ranieri stated that he "won't stop him" if the player wishes to leave.

Leandro Paredes, Argentine midfielder, is a coveted player by Boca Juniors, which seeks to finalize its transfer market with the desired return of this footballer, a world champion and two-time Copa America champion. Paredes, who is 30 years old, is a key player and a reference in the Roma team since 2023, under the direction of Claudio Ranieri.

With the current season underway, Roma is in ninth place in Serie A and is looking to advance to the knockout stage of the UEFA Europa League with a victory over Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt. Meanwhile, Boca has offered Paredes a contract that would surpass Edinson Cavani's, pending the player's approval to finalize the transfer.

In this regard, Claudio Ranieri mentioned: "All the rumors I hear about Leandro are from the journalists, not from him. Bryan Cristante can represent his replacement during the season, but he does not have his verticality."
