Inter Milan defeated Hellas Verona 2-1 away and remained in the race for the top of the Serie A table. The goals were scored by Polish striker Piotr Zielinski in the 16th minute and an own goal by defender Martin Frese in the 93rd. The match began with Inter dominating under heavy rain in Verona. Hellas Verona leveled the game and found the equalizer in the 40th minute. Following a turnover in their own half, Domagoj Bradarić combined with Gift Orbán, who then set up Giovane. After getting past Alessandro Bastoni, Giovane scored with a precise cross-shot to beat Yann Sommer. Right before halftime, Orbán hit the post. The second half saw a slower pace and less action.
