Sinner wins second ATP Finals title in Turin

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner defeated Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (4) and 7-5 in two hours and 15 minutes to become a two-time ATP Finals champion held in Turin. This victory marked his 24th career title and sixth of the 2025 season. In the match, covered by the Argentine News Agency, the player born in San Candido added his 24th career title—his sixth in the 2025 season—reached 31 consecutive wins on hard court and reaffirmed his supremacy. Although the Murcian led the head-to-head record 10-5 (7-1 since the start of 2024), the court surface and tournament location favored the local player. Authoritatively, the San Candido native managed to win three games in a row, breaking the Spaniard's serve and going ahead 4-3. Finally, match point came when the set was 6-5, allowing the 24-year-old tennis player to defend his title and become the youngest to do so since Roger Federer, who achieved it at 23. Neither player was willing to concede their serve, not even Sinner, who managed to turn around a 2-1, 40/40 deficit after a long stoppage due to incidents in the stands. In this way, the first set went to a tiebreak, where the Italian looked more composed and physically fit. Although it started evenly, the 2025 Wimbledon champion pulled away at the end and won 7-4 to take the lead. The second set seemed to be going in Alcaraz's favor, who managed to break his opponent and take a 3-1 lead. However, Sinner kept his calm and showed why he is the world number two. Additionally, Alcaraz suffered discomfort during the match and had to play with a bandage on his right leg. Both athletes were determined to give their all on the court to win the title.
