The World Food Programme affiliated with the United Nations announced its efforts to provide food for the residents of the Gaza Strip after the reopening of the crossings following a ceasefire that came into effect on Sunday. In this context, the Deputy Regional Director of the programme, Karla Skau, stated that they would work to provide flour and ready meals, in addition to providing supplementary food for the children most affected by malnutrition.

The first phase of the ceasefire will increase humanitarian assistance provided to the region, in order to support the affected population. In a related context, the deputy regional director of the World Food Programme announced their commitment to provide assistance to millions of people in the shortest possible time.

These efforts come as part of the programme's attempt to meet the food needs of civilians in the Gaza Strip, where truckloads of aid have begun arriving from Rome in direction to the area to provide the necessary support.
