Health Update on Pope Francis

Pope Francis has been at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14, where he continues to recover from a bronchospasm crisis he had the previous day. The Pope's health status remains stable, according to the latest update from the Holy See Press Office.

On Saturday, Francis received the Eucharist, prayed in the chapel, and it was reported that he was not experiencing fever or leukocytosis, in addition to maintaining stable hemodynamic parameters. He continued to feed himself and actively engaged in respiratory physiotherapy.

On Sunday, March 2, the Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, and his deputy, Edgar Peña Parra, visited the Pope in the hospital after a quiet night. The director of the Press Office, Matteo Bruni, communicated that Francis had a good rest and was still having breakfast and reading the daily news.

In a statement, the Holy See reported that the Pope has alternated between non-invasive mechanical ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy, responding adequately in both cases. Despite the isolated bronchospasm crisis he experienced, his condition is considered stable and the therapies continue.
