Two Italian students, Benedetta and her partner, participated in a mass sale of unsold products organized by the French company "King Koli." During the event, each participant could buy units at a price depending on weight. Benedetta accidentally found a garden trowel and wireless headphones in her unit. At the same time, her partner found a remnant in his unit.
"I live in the countryside and often engage in planting flowers. For me, it has never been logical to buy a garden trowel myself," said Benedetta.
The initiative of "blind selling" has become an innovation for Italy. The main permanent director of "King Koli" expected to sell 10 tons of unsold products within six days, attracting an average of 800 buyers and 3000 visitors per day. The company took this step in an attempt to combat unsold goods during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Italy, the company had successful sales in France, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, and also plans to organize similar events in Portugal and Spain.
Such services began to develop in other companies in the logistics sphere in France, called 'bortysty' with perishable goods and reduce waste. Approximately three-quarters of sold products belong to major European logistics companies, while others – online retailers like Amazon, some of which are lost, and some are returned and not distributed.
As noted by an Amazon representative, the company does not collaborate with sellers of boxed goods and products. However, they use new ways to recycle goods for extending their lifecycle.
