Buenos Aires, November 25 (NA) - Argentine Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez said he is "happy for what is happening" to his compatriot from Atletico Madrid, Julian Alvarez, in the lead-up to their duel in the fifth round of the Champions League.
'The Bull' and 'The Spider' will face off this Wednesday at 5:00 PM as part of a new round of Europe's most prestigious tournament.
In turn, the forward, who has a past at Racing, did not hesitate to heap praise on the native of Calchín.
"He is in a great moment," he said at the pre-match press conference, as found out by the Argentine News Agency (NA).
The Italian team will seek to extend their perfect unbeaten streak against a Spanish side that arrives beaten, as they are in twentieth place and, if they don't take all three points, it could put their qualification to the round of 16 of the tournament at risk.
In the same vein, Martinez remarked: "on Wednesday we will be rivals, we will respect each other, each one will defend their team and their jersey and after the match we will surely talk, but when the match starts we are rivals".
Nevertheless, the Bahia Blanca native did not hesitate to highlight that he is "happy with his present and that of the Argentine boys," while once again pointing out the good relationship that exists between both world champions with the Argentine National Team in Qatar 2022.
"The relationship with Julian Alvarez is beautiful, one of friendship, we talk a lot. Now he is about to be a father and I am happy for the life he is living, how he helps the Argentine National Team."
