This was stated by regional councilor Gianni. According to him, following the red weather alert, residents are advised to maintain 'maximum prudence' due to 'heavy and persistent rains.' The fire service published photographs of vehicles that were partially submerged in water in the village of Sesto-Fiorentino in northern Florence. Gianni urged residents to stay away from the low-lying and basement areas. According to the Italian agency ANSA, dozens of people were given instructions to evacuate with the help of firefighters from the low-lying wooded areas around Pisa.
